Pulsar

Pulsar is a true "Level-A" simulator for flowcomputer pulse integrity verification in accordance with ISO 6551 /IP 252 / API Chapter 5.

It provides a versatile and multifunctional emulation of single pulse flowmeters, dual pulse flowmeters and density transducers. It is a portable device with front of panel interface, and operates using mains or battery power.

The supporting software PulsarConfig provides a dynamic operator interface and allows custom configuration, which can be stored and recalled.

Dual Mode

Pulsar can be used to simulate a dual pulse flowmeter. This simulates a variety of potential fault conditions, which can be used to verify the fault tolerance and correct operation of flowcomputers and similar systems.

Independent Mode

Emulates a single pulse flowmeter, densitometer, or similar type signal. This eliminates the need for two separate simulator boxes.

PulsarConfig is installed on a PC, which interfaces to Pulsar. It is Microsoft® Excel® based and:

• Gives an operator interface for custom configuration of Pulsar settings
• Records Pulsar configuration
• Allows remote operation
• Displays dynamic data from Pulsar on a PC or laptop
• Connects through Serial or Ethernet.

Frequency range - 1 Hz to 3 kHz

Phase angle (degrees) - 45, 90, 135, and 180

Duty cycle (Mark space ratio) - 10% to 60%

Add / Subtract pulses - Single or multiple pulse repetition

Local Counter & Rate Indicator - 8 digit, LCD, Reflective with Red LED backlight

Outputs - Two single-ended voltage dual pulse signal outputs. Voltage selectable as, +3V, +6V, +9V, +12V, or +24V. Two front panel 50ohm BNC connectors

Mains power - 110V - 240Vac

Battery power - Inbuilt rechargeable battery pack providing over 8 hours of free standing continuous use

Battery charge indicator - 10 Bar, Tri-colour flashing LED segment

Communication - Serial (RS232) or Ethernet connection.
